We love variety, and we are proud to use different eclectic materials to create the most amazing, unique designs for you. We believe that using various materials is the best way to make sure your jewelry is unique and special. From sterling silver to vintage beads, from natural stones to man-made gems, every piece of jewelry in our collection is made with an eye toward uniqueness.  Below is a list of materials we incorporate into our designs

Metals Used in Our Earrings

All our earrings are made using a variety of metals in the wrapping wires and chains, including .925 Sterling silver, Gold filled, copper, metal-plated with multiple finishes, and  German silver.

German silver is not Sterling silver. It is an alloy of zinc, nickel, and iron. It has properties similar to stainless steel and does not rust or tarnish. It keeps up beautifully, is light, and easy to care for. We recommend earrings made with Sterling Silver wire and clips for customers concerned about nickel-free allergies.  We can accommodate silver-plated screw-on clips, which are nickel free.  Please get in touch with us.

Metals in our Clip Findings

Our store is all about choice. We know that you want to be able to choose your style, and we want to help you do that. That's why we carry a vast assortment of clip findings: nickel-plated clip findings, nickel-free, metal-toned, metal-plated, gold-filled, sterling silver, and brass-plated items in multiple finishes: Brass, copper, and gunmetal. Want to make sure that your earrings are secure? You can choose various styles of backs for your earrings: pierced or screw-on, paddle back. We carry a vast selection of clip parts if you're looking for something unique or need to fix an old pair of earrings.

We know that sometimes it can be challenging to find precisely what you want when looking for a specific type of earring finding, that's why we've made it easy for our customers! All our products are clearly labeled, so they're easy to find, no matter their style or color!

Beads, Beads, and More Beads!

We are obsessed with beads and love to incorporate unique ones in our fashion earring designs. We utilize many different types of beads to create beautiful earring designs. These beads can include the following:

Semi-precious stones are the perfect way to add a little sparkle to your life, literally and figuratively. We love these gems' properties, and we know you will. Semi-precious stones are gorgeous for our earrings because they come in various colors, shapes, and textures. They can be used alone or combined with other semi-precious stones to create truly unique pieces that will make you stand out from the crowd. We use a wide range of semi-precious stones, including Pearls, Turquoise, Chrysocolla, Quartz, Andean Pink Opal, Peridot, Carnelian, Chalcedonies, Moonstones, Celestine, Serpentine, Black onyx, Lapis Lazuli, Jasper, Quartz and many more! Many of these stones have been assigned a common property, a distinctive quality to bring and help with the overall well-being. Interested in the most typical qualities of semi-precious stones? Vintage beads are a great way to make a powerful fashion statement in today's modern world. Vintage beads bring out the uniqueness of old techniques, colors, shapes, and memories of past times. We use vintage beads such as glass, lucite, and resin. Many come from Germany, Japan, Italy, or Czechoslovakia. Although we do not always know the exact manufacturing date, many are at least 30 years old. And some are even older! Many of these lovely older beads are handmade and hard to find. Their overall beauty is appreciated by bead lovers who appreciate the uniqueness and beautiful handmade work.

Lampwork beads are handmade beads that are frequently called glass-blowing beads. They are made when raw glass is exposed to a high-temperature torch, melting and forming into different shapes. Lampwork beads are usually bold and brilliant. They are popular because they can be any color you want, and the possibilities for design are endless!

Preciosa and Swarovski Crystals-Pronounced Swore-Off-Ski

Swarovski crystals are not natural crystals but are man-made. The formula for this beautiful crystal was perfected by Daniel Swarovski and his three sons in the earlier part of this century. Swarovski Silver Crystal, if fired using a combination of natural minerals and quartz sand, cooled slowly to avoid stress and inclusions. Swarovski Crystals come in a variety of shapes and a beautiful array of colors. Many of these colors provide a lovely representation of Birthday colored stones, allowing people to wear beautiful personalized earrings at affordable prices. Although Swarovski crystal is Class 1, it still requires the following warning: Consuming foods or beverages that have been kept or served in leaded crystal products or handling products made of leaded crystal will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or reproductive harm. Swarovski crystals are known to contain LEAD; therefore, this material is NOT suitable for earrings for kids under 13 years of age.

Gold Foil and Silver Foil Venetian Beads

Gold foil and silver foil Venetian beads are made from blown glass with a thin square of 24k gold or .925 sterling silver foil inside them. The white gold foils used in creating these beads are known as "Platino" in Venice, an alloy of gold and other white metals. The process starts by rolling molten glass over the foil and then adding another layer of clear glass. Because the gold/silver reside inside the beads, they will not peel or chip away. Note: Beads with the gold exterior simply do not have this final coat of clear glass, and with time and wear, some of the gold or silver will wear off. This is not a defect. Instead, it enhances the overall effect of the bead and makes it unique.

What else?

When it comes to our earrings, we think that the eclectic is best. We love to use a wide range of materials in our designs, including glass, wood, bamboo, dried gourd, bone, horn, cat-eyes beads, glass seeds, lucite, resin and pewter beads, Nepalese beads, copper beads, lava stones,  leaves (and the list goes on!). All these different materials give each pair of earrings a unique look and character. Our earrings aren't mass-produced; they're handmade with multiple metal components, gems, beads, etc. The result is a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings that you can enjoy.

Note:  Handcrafted items will use different materials and techniques (and because no two pieces are exactly alike), there may be slight variations in color or size between your item(s) and its photograph(s). This makes it even more special because it's not just mass-produced elsewhere.

Each item will indicate the materials used in their construction, but if you have any questions,  Reach out to us!
