a large variety of metals including: .925 Sterling
silver, Gold filled, copper, bronze, *german
silver, antique brass, gunmetal, nickel and
nickel-free wire. *Note: German silver is not
Sterling silver. It is an alloy of zinc, nickel,
and iron. It has properties similar to stainless
steel, it does not rust or tarnish. It keeps up
beautifully, is light and easy to care for. For
customers concerned about nickel-free allergies, we
offer a collection of items made of nickel free
wire and clips. Nickel-free items are labeled as
such, please ensure to check the details of the
ad.

Vintage beads are an
elegant way to make a powerful fashion statement in
the modern contemporary world of today. Vintage
beads bring out the uniqueness of old techniques,
the colors, the shape and the memories of past
times. We use vintage beads such as glass, lucite
and plastic. Many come Germany, Japan, Italy, or
Czechoslovakia. Although we do not always know the
exact date of manufacturing many of them are at
least 20 years old and some times older. If we know
we will specify the dates on each ad. Many of this
lovely older beads are handmade and are hard to
find. Their overall beauty is appreciated by bead
lovers who appreciate uniqueness and beautiful
handmade work.
These are handmade beads
frequently called glass-blowing beads. They are
made when raw glass is exposed to a
high-temperature torch melting and forming into
different shapes. They are usually bold and
brilliant.

Swarovski Crystal is not a natural crystal but
is man made. The formula for this beautiful crystal
was perfected by Daniel Swarovski and his three
sons in the earlier part of this century. Swarovski
Silver Crystal if fired using a combination of
natural minerals and quartz sand, and then cooled
slowly to avoid stress and inclusions. Swarovski
Crystals come in a variety of shapes and a
beautiful array of colors. Many of these colors
provide a lovely representation of Birthday colored
stones which allow people to wear beautiful
personalized earrings at affordable
prices.
Although Swarovski
crystal is Class 1, it still requires the following
warning. Consuming foods or beverages that have
been kept or served in leaded crystal products or
handling products made of leaded crystal will
expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State
of California to cause birth defects or
reproductive harm.
Beautiful blown glass beads
that use an extra special technique. Small squares
of tissue thin gold foil 24kt gold and .925
sterling silver are used. The white gold foils is
known in Venice as "Platino", it is an alloy of
gold and other white metals. Beads are started on
the mandrel and then quickly a molten small center
of the beads is rolled over the tissue thin foil. A
final coat of clear of molten translucent glass
completes the beads. Because the gold/silver reside
inside the beads, they will not peel or chip away.
Note: Beads with the gold exterior simply do not
have the final coat of clear glass and with time
and wear some of the gold or silver will wear off.
This is not a defect, rather it enhances the
overall effect of the bead and makes it
unique.

The end result
With the large variety of materials,
the handcrafted nature of our earrings will produce
minor differences in color & sizing. Subtle
shade variations will occur from piece to piece,
adding to its unique qualities.
