The pulp which is the part that becomes brittle is removed by bathing the leaf in a special acid bath, leaving the leaf structure intact. ? The leaf is treated with a copper based paint, which gives the foundation of electro-formation, then it is dipped in a electrolytic solution ( based on gold, copper, brass, silver, rose gold) to allow the metal deposits onto the copper based surface, creating a lovely natural look that is strong.
